Description
Beyond the Chants story, is about a young man who hails from a remote countryside in Rukungiri district, Kigezi sub-region in western Uganda. It’s a story of a pro-democracy activist, a champion of an inclusive youths-led change who at a very young age makes a choice to join and actively participate in opposition activism in Uganda alongside distinguished men and women of integrity.
The story profiles Byamugisha Moses, a young Ugandan lawyer, and a patriot, his efforts at bringing transformational change in Uganda from his early primary school days, through University education, and his vital contribution in mobilizing forces of change around the country, to becoming a family man. Moses’ rise through the ranks as a young party cadre to his attempt at becoming a Party President of a national opposition party FDC is well documented in the story.
The story is also about a young activist that had the privilege to know and follow Dr. Kizza Besigye, Uganda’s leading opposition figure, and details the lifelong lessons he learned out of this very impactful relationship. Beyond the chants is a testimony of an activist that stayed true to the ideals and the vision of the struggle for change in Uganda in the face of enormous political challenges and temptations.
