Lawyer, Fdc Activist, Former FDC Party Presidential Candidate in 2017, and champion of Youth-Led Change.

I became active in opposition politics at the height of the 2001 presidential election as a young man, after Dr. Besigye had declared his intention to run against Museveni during the popular reform agenda days.

The office of the "Elect Besigye Taskforce of 2001" of our Bugangari sub-county where was in my father's house in Bugangari town and so I volunteered to work in that office as an attendant since I was on holiday, to receive any information about campaigns in our area, and share it with respective leaders and mobilizers of reform agenda in the Sub-county.

I and other many young colleagues formed ourselves into a youth wing of the reform agenda and our main role was to mobilize more young people in our Sub-county to support Col Dr. Besigye and all other opposition politicians in various positions. After the 2001 elections, due to the political persecution that ensued that forced Dr. Besigye into exile, our activities slowed down and we were to resume again during the countrywide exercise of opening FDC party branches/offices and towards 2005 with the historic return of Dr. Besigye on 28th October 2005 when we received him at Entebbe airport in large numbers.

I was at Law Development Center then doing a Diploma in Law, and while at LDC, I continued to popularize the FDC agenda and values. I graduated from LDC at the end of 2005, retreated back to Rukungiri, and joined the 2006 general campaigns in my district.

And that was the early start of my journey in engaging in Ugandan politics - read more in my book Beyond The Chants.
